Zambia Sugar Plc invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will drive SHERQ and food-safety compliance and culture in the Raw House.
Key Performance Areas
• Drive a zero-harm culture and compliance with SHERQ and food-safety standards.
• Develop and enforce strategies that improve boiling-house recovery in backend operations.
• Lead the Backend Focused Improvement Team and promote multidisciplinary problem solving.
• Enforce Technical Operating Practices and monitor KPI boards, work instructions, log sheets and dashboards.
• Conduct MOP audits, manage gap closure and ensure compliance with risk-audit requirements.
• Review performance trends, identify focus areas and implement performance-improvement plans.
• Implement prototypes and new standards and onboard operatives.
• Identify learning and development needs and manage training with business partners.
• Improve equipment availability, maintain critical-consumable stocks and plan shutdown work.
• Ensure HACCP and HIRA reviews, adopt group best practices and close audit findings.
• Manage molasses-handling and effluent systems.
• Develop season and off-crop operating budgets and coordinate off-crop inspections.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Preferably a degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Preferably 8+ years’ experience in the sugar industry.
• Preferably 5+ years’ experience in backend or Raw House operations.
• Sugar Engineering or Sugar Technology training is an added advantage.
• Certificates must be verified by ZAQA.
