Role Overview for IT Business Partner Jobs in Solwezi As a Specialist, IT Business Partner, you will support IT business engagement initiatives across the organization to maximize business value from IT and digital solutions, accelerating digital transformation.

You will build and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders, align IT strategies with business objectives, and lead organizational change management to ensure successful adoption of technology initiatives. Your role will include managing IT projects using methodologies such as Agile Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches, collaborating closely with IT and Digital Leads and Superintendents to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Project Strategy and Business Value:

  • Define project objectives, scope, success criteria, and delivery approaches with sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Develop and critically review business cases to ensure alignment with business priorities.

Requirements Management & Solution Alignment:

  • Lead requirements gathering, conduct impact assessments and gap analyses, and ensure solutions meet business acceptance criteria while promoting user-centric design.

Delivery Planning and Execution:

  • Manage software development and IT projects using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
  • Define roles, milestones, and governance, including Scrum Master duties as needed.
  • Support IT finance and procurement processes.

Change Management & Digital Adoption:

Design and implement enterprise-wide change management strategies, lead readiness assessments, develop communication and training plans, and drive user adoption of new technologies and digital transformation.

Governance, Risk, and Performance Control:

  • Monitor scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and issues, and escalate variances with corrective actions.
  • Manage financial controls, cost allocation, change requests, and delivery reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement and Change Adoption:

  • Build strong relationships with business sponsors, IT teams, vendors, and end users.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly and facilitate operational transition of project outputs.

Quality, Standards, and Continuous Improvement:

  • Apply consistent delivery standards and assurance practices, coach project teams, and recommend improvements in digital and project delivery methodologies.
  • Qualifications and Experience Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, data science, or related fields.
  • All academic qualifications must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT project management or IT business partnerships.
  • Proven track record as an IS Superintendent, IT Project Manager, IT Business Partner, or similar role.
  • Experience managing IT projects and familiarity with Microsoft PowerApps, .NET platform, Github, or Azure DevOps.
  • Relevant project management certifications such as Scrum Master, PMP, or Prince2.
  • Membership in ICTAZ or EIZ is preferred.
  • Behavioural Competencies Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and ability to influence managers and employees.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Conflict management and ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong technical aptitude and accuracy in task execution.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking, time management, and work planning skills.
