Minimum 3 years’ proven sales experience within the cosmetics, personal-care or cosmetic raw-material industry
An existing network and good relationships with relevant manufacturers and customers would be a strong advantage
Must have a good understanding of the South African cosmetics market and the ingredients commonly used by manufacturers
Ability to identify suitable products and ingredients for import, stocking, and promotion
Strong new-business development and customer relationship skills
Ability to understand customers’ applications and recommend suitable ingredients
Self-motivated and comfortable developing a growing division
Good communication, negotiation and follow-up skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and willingness to visit customers when required
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing new business with cosmetic and personal care manufacturers.
Managing and growing relationships with existing and potential customers.
Identifying market opportunities and advising on target cosmetic ingredients.
Promoting the ingredient range and providing customers with pricing, samples, specifications, and supporting documentation.
Following up on enquiries, quotations, samples, and product trials.
Working with the sourcing team to identify suitable products and suppliers.
Assisting with sales forecasting and stock planning based on customer demand.
Attending customer meetings and relevant industry events as required.
