Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will gain exposure to and assist with:
  • Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Performing audit procedures and assisting with audit engagements.
  • Completing accounting and bookkeeping functions for various clients.
  • Processing and reviewing accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Performing bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reviews.
  • Assisting with tax calculations, submissions, and compliance requirements.
  • Preparing management accounts and financial reports.
  • Identifying financial discrepancies and assisting with problem resolution.
  • Performing analytical reviews and assisting with financial analysis.
  • Communicating with clients regarding financial information and audit requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate working papers and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
  • Completing administrative duties related to client engagements.
  • Any other accounting and assurance-related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • BCom Accounting degree completed or in progress.
  • BCompt degree or equivalent qualification considered.
  • Must meet the academic requirements to register for a SAICA training contract.
  • Eligible to commence or continue with SAICA articles.

Experience

  • Previous exposure to an accounting environment will be advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software will be advantageous.
