Payroll & Operations Analyst to manage the Group’s payroll processes and support the effective administration of People & Culture operations. The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll administration and processing cycle, ensuring that employee compensation is processed accurately, timely, confidentially, and in compliance with applicable statutory requirements and company policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll Management

  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for the Group, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries and related payments.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs including salaries, allowances, deductions, bonuses, benefits, leave adjustments, promotions, transfers, exits, and other employee-related changes.
  • Ensure all approved payroll changes are accurately captured and processed within established timelines.
  • Coordinate with Finance to facilitate payroll reconciliation, payment processing, and resolution of identified discrepancies.
  • Manage payroll-related statutory obligations, including PAYE, pension, and other applicable deductions and remittances.
  • Prepare payroll schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for Management and Finance review.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and ensure proper documentation of all payroll transactions.
  • Manage and resolve employee payroll queries, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
  • Ensure payroll data is accurately maintained on the HRIS and other relevant systems.
  • Monitor changes in tax, pension, labour, and other statutory requirements that may impact payroll administration.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality, security, and integrity of employee compensation and payroll information.
  • Support payroll audits and provide relevant payroll documentation and explanations when required.

People & Culture Operations

  • Manage key employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, leave administration, and exit processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data across the Group.
  • Administer employee benefits and other compensation-related programmes in line with approved policies.
  • Prepare periodic people and operations reports, dashboards, and management updates.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee documentation and HR transactions.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HR operations, policies, processes, and controls.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of people-related processes across the Group.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and automation of payroll and People & Culture operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, applicable labour regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Provide operational support across the People & Culture function as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in payroll administration, payroll management, HR operations, accounting, or a related function.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll processing for a sizeable workforce.
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian payroll practices, PAYE, pension, statutory deductions, and applicable employment regulations.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, or enterprise systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with a high level of integrity and discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIPM, HRCI or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience within the financial services industry is an added advantage.
