Job Summary

  • As the Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Mercedes-Benz trucks and other company vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and carry out preventive maintenance on Mercedes-Benz trucks and other company vehicles
  • Inspect engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and other mechanical components to identify faults and recommend appropriate repairs
  • Perform routine servicing, parts replacement, and vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and collaborate with fleet operations to minimize vehicle downtime
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and the workshop are properly maintained while adhering to health, safety, and company standards.

Requirements

  • HND, OND, Trade Test Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field
  • 3 - 5 years' experience as an Automotive or Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic, preferably within an FMCG, logistics, transport, or fleet management environment
  • Strong hands-on experience servicing and repairing Mercedes-Benz trucks and other commercial vehicles
  • Sound knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repair techniques
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
