IT SPECIALIST

Good Time Steel Company Zambia Limited is a growing steel manufacturing company seeking to recruit a suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated IT Specialist to join our team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing and maintaining the Company's computer systems, networks, servers, and IT infrastructure.
  • Providing technical support to staff and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, printers, network equipment, and other IT devices.
  • Managing network connectivity, internet services, user accounts, and access controls.
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring the security and reliability of IT systems.
  • Implementing data backup, recovery, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Managing and troubleshooting CCTV, access control systems, and other technology infrastructure where applicable.
  • Supporting Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, email systems, and other business applications.
  • Maintaining IT documentation, asset registers, and software licences.
  • Assisting with the implementation and improvement of the Company's information systems.
  • Training and assisting employees in the proper use of IT systems and applications.
  • Liaising with external IT service providers and ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and recommending appropriate solutions to improve business efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Applicants should have:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking, Windows systems, hardware, software, and IT security.
  • Experience in network troubleshooting, system administration, and IT support.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and network security.
  • Experience with data backup and recovery systems.
  • Knowledge of CCTV and other electronic security systems will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to IT emergencies when required.
