Employment Information

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage disciplinary processes from initiation through to conclusion.
  • Chair and/or facilitate disciplinary hearings.
  • Represent the company during CCMA conciliations and arbitrations.
  • Prepare documentation and evidence bundles for labour-related matters.
  • Provide expert advice on labour legislation, policies, and IR best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), and other applicable legislation.
  • Conduct workplace investigations into misconduct and grievances.
  • Support managers with employee relations matters and conflict resolution.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across multiple sites.
  • Maintain accurate IR records, reports, and documentation.
  • Travel to operational sites as required to provide IR support.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, or a related qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' proven Industrial Relations experience, preferably within the construction, engineering, or related industry.
  • Extensive experience conducting disciplinary hearings and managing grievance procedures.
  • Proven experience representing employers at CCMA conciliations and arbitrations.
  • Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation.
  • Excellent report writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid Code B driver's licence (essential).
  • Willingness to travel extensively.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within the construction or contracting environment.
  • Exposure to unionised workforces.
  • Experience working across multiple operational sites.
