The Head of Operations will take full ownership of operational execution across the company’s core commercial levers. This role requires translating approved strategies into actionable plans, maintaining discipline in execution, and applying rigorous performance management to achieve operational and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities for Head of Operations Jobs in Lusaka Manage end-to-end performance across commercial and operational KPIs, converting insights into priority actions and ensuring adherence. Lead weekly and monthly performance reviews, assigning clear ownership and driving corrective measures to close execution gaps.
Oversee operational readiness and execution of new product launches, including demand preparation, stock deployment, and post-launch performance monitoring. Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to meet all reporting requirements.
Partner with Heads of Departments to develop and maintain business processes, policies, and documentation. Identify and address training needs to ensure seamless process alignment across functions.
Monitor and enforce compliance with organizational policies. Provide regular updates to the Group office on departmental initiatives and performance outcomes.
Drive cross-functional collaboration among Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Field Operations to meet commercial commitments. Engage with various departments to gather feedback and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Build and lead a high-performing operations team focused on execution, discipline, and real-time resolution of bottlenecks. Performance Indicators Achievement of commercial plan targets.
Stock availability, speed of deployment, and sell-through rates. PAYGO portfolio performance and operational discipline.
Compliance with processes and timely execution. Candidate Requirements 8 to 10 years of hands-on operational leadership experience in a complex, multi-channel environment.
A relevant undergraduate degree from a recognized university. Proven success in business analytics, commercial finance, business operations, or related roles.
Strong ability to translate high-level business strategies into system and process requirements with measurable impact. Highly analytical with demonstrated expertise in extracting actionable insights from data.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with tact and diplomacy.
Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills and the ability to work independently. Business-driven, people-focused, with exceptional influencing, organizational, project management, multi-tasking, presentation, and time-management skills.
