We are seeking a qualified and experienced E&I Decarbonization Engineer/Lead to drive electrical/mechanical and instrumentation initiatives focused on reducing emissions and improving efficiency across our Combined Cycle Gas Turbine CCGT, Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage, including retrofit, electrification, and general decarbonization of the gas turbine, HRSG, and steam turbine systems.
Assess, design, and implementation of electrical/mechancical and instrumentation solutions to reduce emissions and improve efficiency of the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine CCGT, , spanning the gas turbine GT, Heat Recovery Steam Generator HRSG, and steam turbine ST trains — including retrofit/upgrade, electrification alternatives, and general decarbonization of plant power generation.
Key Responsibilities
Assess existing CCGT plant performance, heat rate, emissions profile, and cycle efficiency GT, HRSG, ST to identify decarbonization opportunities
Lead engineering studies for CCGT decarbonization options, including:
Retrofit/upgrade of gas turbines for improved fuel efficiency and lower NOx/CO2 emissions
Optimization of HRSG and steam cycle performance to maximize combined-cycle efficiency
Hydrogen/gas-blend firing feasibility for the gas turbine train
Hybridization with renewable power solar/wind or battery storage to reduce run-hours/peaking load
Carbon capture retrofit-readiness instrumentation and control interfaces for the CCGT flue gas path
Electrification/grid-tie alternatives to reduce reliance on on-site CCGT generation
Design and specify instrumentation and control systems for emissions monitoring across the CCGT train NOx, CO2, methane slip, stack CEMS
Conduct feasibility and cost-benefit studies comparing retrofit, hybrid, and full electrification options for the CCGT plant
Ensure E&I designs for CCGT decarbonization comply with relevant codes and standards IEC, IEEE, API, NEC, NFPA and environmental regulations
Coordinate with process, mechanical, rotating equipment, and HSE teams to integrate decarbonization initiatives into overall CCGT plant engineering
Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and datasheets for E&I decarbonization packages related to the CCGT plant
Provide technical input for tenders, feasibility reports, and client submissions related to CCGT emissions-reduction projects
Monitor emerging technologies relevant to CCGT decarbonization hydrogen-blend turbines, carbon capture, digital twin/advanced control systems
Support commissioning, testing, and performance verification of retrofitted or newly installed CCGT E&I systems
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/MechanicalEngineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or related discipline Master's an advantage
Professional registration/certification COREN, IEEE, or equivalent preferred
8–10 years' E&I engineering experience in power generation or oil & gas, with demonstrable involvement in Combined Cycle Gas Turbine CCGT plants and/or decarbonization projects
Strong knowledge of CCGT electrical/control systems GT, HRSG, ST train, power system integration, and relevant international codes and standards
