Employment Information

Reporting to the Senior Technical Officer, the District Coordinator will lead the day-to-day operations of Tebelopele service delivery in the assigned district.

The role involves the supervision and coordination of clinical services at both fixed and outreach delivery points, including drop-in centers, with a focus on at risk and priority populations.

The District Coordinator will also support community-based case management, promote linkage to care, and ensure the provision of comprehensive clinical services aligned with national guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations and service delivery activities within the district.
  • Provide clinical services including HIV testing, ART initiation, STI management, and GBV post-care support.
  • Supervise and support HTS teams, Lay Counsellors, and Peer Outreach Workers.
  • Collaborate with EPIC partners, PLHIV groups, and community-based actors to strengthen demand creation and adherence support.
  • Implement the HIV Minimum Care Package, which includes condom and lubricant distribution, STI/TB screening and treatment, family planning, and referral services.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Programs Coordinator, District Health Management Team (DHMT), and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support to DHMT on at risk & priority population programming and participate in local technical advisory committees (DMSAC/TAC).

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution.
  • Certified training in:HIV Testing and Counselling (preferably Serial HTC)
  • Screening and Management of STIs
  • Nurses ARV Prescription and Dispensing
  • Registration with the Botswana Nursing Council.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience, preferably in sexual and reproductive health.
  • Strong understanding of HIV prevention, treatment, and SRH, including PMTCT and family planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in HIV counselling and up-to-date knowledge of the HIV/AIDS landscape in Botswana.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills, including staff supervision and community engagement.
