The Role:
You will work as part of an experienced transmission team, while also taking ownership of individual project tasks. The position will involve both technical delivery and project management, with exposure to a diverse range of projects including Solar PV, onshore and offshore wind, interconnectors, utilities, nuclear, data centres and industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and delivery of HV and EHV substation projects
- Working on substations from 132kV up to 765kV
- Primary and/or secondary plant design
- Analysis of AIS and GIS substations
- Providing specialist technical input on transmission projects
- Acting as technical lead on project tasks
- Supporting client and project management activities
- Working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Conducting lightning protection studies
- Using specialist substation design software such as CDEGS and related tools
Requirements:- BSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Professional registration with ECSA would be advantageous
- Experience in the design and delivery of HV/EHV substations
- Exposure to 132kV to 765kV transmission projects would be highly beneficial
- Experience with primary plant and/or secondary plant design
- Knowledge of AIS and GIS substation environments
- Experience using substation design software such as CDEGS would be advantageous
- Ability to conduct lightning protection studies
- Strong technical, analytical and project delivery skills
- Ability to work with clients and act as a technical lead on project tasks
