Role Overview:

TetraPak Filling Operator Jobs in Lusaka The primary purpose of this position is to support product changeovers and maintain continuous line operation by effectively operating the Tetra Pak filling machine (A3 Flex, TBA8, or equivalent).

You will monitor machine parameters, maintain production speed, and ensure aseptic conditions to deliver high-quality products safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Machine Operation:

• Start-up, shut down, and operate the filling machine according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Production Activities:

• Prepare machines, perform package size changeovers, load packaging materials and caps, monitor filling accuracy, and verify package integrity.

Quality Control:

• Conduct hourly quality checks including seal quality, package appearance, fill volume, and leak tests; reject defective packs and report deviations immediately.

Food Safety Compliance:

• Follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain aseptic conditions, prevent contamination, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Machine Monitoring:

• Track sterilization temperatures, hydrogen peroxide concentration, air and steam pressure, product temperature, filling accuracy, machine alarms, and packaging material usage.

Minor Maintenance:

• Perform daily autonomous maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, replacing minor consumables, assisting with breakdowns, and reporting abnormal machine behavior.

Housekeeping:

• Maintain cleanliness around the machine, adhere to 5S principles, dispose of waste properly, and keep the work area organized.

Documentation:

• Accurately record production quantities, downtime, rejections, machine stoppages, material consumption, shift handovers, and cleaning activities.
• Qualifications and Experience Required ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Food Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
• Hands-on experience operating filling machines such as Tetra Pak, Elecster, or Alps.
• 3 to 5 years of experience working with Tetra Pak aseptic filling machines.
• Background in beverage, dairy, juice, or UHT processing industries.

Performance Indicators Success in this role will be measured by key performance indicators including production efficiency, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), downtime reduction, product and packaging material loss, first pass yield, number of quality defects, customer complaints, and compliance with food safety and GMP standards.
