At Nestoil, we are on an evolutionary journey where we are changing our story. We are looking to hire an experienced Technical Manager to join our diverse team in our Marine Support & Logistics Services Subsidiary.
In this role, you will be working with stakeholders through the project process to achieve market competitive project pricing. This includes coordinating with all other stake holders and providing support to commercial colleagues by providing expert knowledge in the field of both calculation and ship repair development.
As a Technical Manager, your responsibilities are outlined below:
- Planning and Execution of project tasks
- Oversee prompt delivery of all projects in the Shipyard
- Ensure timely production of all Technical information for estimation, work scope definition.
- Ensure all safety and quality procedures are maintained during project execution
- Support Sales, Estimation and procurement department through provision of technical information and enquiries.
- Develop and implement maintenance system for the Floating dock and all Shipyard equipment.
- Relate and liaise with class societies on all technical issues relating to the Shipyard and clients.
- Ensure effective coordination of dock related activities Docking, Lifting, undocking, Dock Maintenance for optimal performance.
- Provide guidance, coaching and support to the project management team by managing and supporting the team’s effectiveness and taking corrective action in line with relevant processes.
- Ensure all SSDD Company Safety Policy’s & Procedures are always followed and work towards improvement of the safety culture.
- Responsible for identifying and implementing improvement projects to increase quality, productivity and profitability of work scope engaged upon.
- Ensuring adherence to all quality systems and requirement are meet.
- Closing of jobs as per timeline without any customer complaint.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned by your line manager.
What are we looking for?
- Degree in Marine Engineering or related fields. Certified Marine
- Any relevant professional qualification will be of added advantage.
- Experience in marine and dock operations
- Sea services experience relevant.
- Manager CMM or a Marina Operations Certificate.
- Good working knowledge of Regulations as applicable to ship repair requirements
- Good understanding / mastery of CAT and EMD Engines and ship’s equipment maintenance. Adequate administration and organizational skills assisted by computer literacy organizational skills.
- Highly motivated and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Commitment to work outside office hours.
- Knowledge of the Maritime Industry.
- Broad knowledge of shipping and environmental laws and regulations.
- Ability to work in a team and interdepartmental.
- A well-established work experience in a related field and discipline.
