A leading paper and packaging manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Supervisor (Converting) with strong experience in production supervision, team leadership, quality control, and manufacturing operations to join their team in Springs. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading production teams within a corrugated packaging manufacturing environment, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, minimizing waste, and driving compliance with health, safety, environmental, and food safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise production teams to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Manage machine crews and optimize labour utilization.
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with customer and company specifications.
- Control waste levels and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage employee attendance, performance, discipline, and development.
- Coach and train employees to enhance skills and performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of production and shift reports.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, quality, environmental, and food safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and relevant management system standards.
Requirements:
- Matric Certificate.
- Supervisor Qualification (NQF 4) or equivalent.
- Approximately 3 years' supervisory experience within a plastic, paper, and/or packaging manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and health and safety requirements.
- Experience managing production teams and meeting operational targets.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and reduce waste.
