We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute Senior Manager: Internal Audit to lead the internal audit function across our Southern African operations. This is a strategic leadership role, offering direct exposure to executive management and a mandate to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
Minimum Requirements
- Post graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field (essential).
- Professional certification as CIA (essential) and CISA (beneficial)
- Minimum 10 years of internal audit experience, with at least 3 years in a similar senior leadership role
- Proven experience in multi-country or regional audit oversight.
- Experience within mining, manufacturing, heavy equipment or engineering sectors will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks (ICOFR), internal controls and governance practices.
- Strong knowledge of the Companies Act, Indirect taxes (customs, VAT etc), King Code, IFRS, SOX, and IIA standards
- Knowledge of J-Sox will be advantageous.
- Strong MS Office skills; exposure to SAP advantageous
- Willingness to travel within the Southern African region.

Key Responsibilities
- Formulation and execution of the audit strategy and audit plans (including annual and strategic plans) to optimise audit coverage that is compatible with the Group’s strategy and with regard to the risk environment and requirements of Group Internal Audit and the Board.
- Develop and promote the internal audit within the Group.
- Lead, execute, and oversee risk-based internal audits and Japanese SOX audits across all to KAfH affiliated entities in the region. (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and Zambia)
- Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management systems.
- Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and risks, and recommend practical, value-adding improvements.
- Monitor and follow up on audit findings and corrective action plans to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide independent and objective assurance to the Board of Directors, executive leadership and Group Internal Audit.
- Maintain a Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP), including periodic internal assessments for the internal audit function.
- Ensure alignment to the enterprise risk management framework and emerging risk themes (including regulatory/compliance risks).
