About the Safety Officer Role As a Safety Officer at Marcopolo Tiles, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s safety, health, and environmental management systems.
Your efforts will ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety legislation, standards, and internal policies, fostering a safe workplace for all employees. Key Responsibilities for Safety Officer Jobs in Lusaka Implement and oversee approved safety plans and programmes within the plant, ensuring employee adherence to established safety policies.
Support the development and promotion of safety initiatives and conduct regular assessments to identify and address any programme gaps. Coordinate and assist with scheduled safety drills to maintain preparedness and compliance.
Assess hazardous conditions and recommend appropriate engineering or administrative controls, including personal protective equipment. Conduct or support accident investigations, providing timely recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
Maintain thorough and accurate records of all safety activities and incidents. Prepare periodic reports to analyze safety trends and identify ongoing safety needs.
Collect and analyze safety data to support effective programme management. Qualifications and Experience Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment.
Membership in a recognized safety institute is required. Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
