We are looking for a Safety Engineer who will play a critical role in supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems on infrastructure projects. About the Safety Engineer Role As a Safety Engineer at MYT Consulting, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards and promoting a culture of safety across road and bridge construction sites.

Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive safety management systems, risk assessments, and emergency response plans. Key Responsibilities for Safety Engineer Jobs in Zambia Implement and monitor EHS management systems, ensuring contractors adhere to safety regulations.

Identify hazards and recommend preventive measures to mitigate risks. Develop safety assurance protocols covering construction practices, environmental protection, fire safety, mechanical and electrical safety, transportation, and site presentation.

Participate in emergency rescue plan development and conduct drills. Review safety management systems and special safety plans submitted by contractors.

Ensure contractors conduct safety and technical briefings and maintain accurate documentation. Support project safety education programs and complete safety responsibility agreements for personnel.

Oversee pre-job and pre-shift safety training for contractors. Review and monitor machinery and vehicle operating procedures.

Conduct daily safety inspections on construction sites, identify potential hazards, and oversee corrective actions. Maintain safety inspection records, hazard logs, and daily safety management logs.

Participate in professional training sessions and contribute to departmental meetings. Organize and maintain safety documentation, including electronic and paper records, photographs, and videos.

Comply with company policies regarding safety, attendance, vehicle management, dormitory, office administration, and 6S management. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Candidate Requirements Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Certification:

• Valid Safety Officer certification or Registered Safety Engineer certification.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years as a Safety Engineer on bridge and road construction projects.

Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of EHS management procedures, safety technical specifications relevant to road and bridge engineering in China, Zambia, and Southern Africa.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and OA systems.
