About the Quantity Surveyor Role in Lusaka As a Quantity Surveyor at CCECC, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. Working closely with project teams and management, you will support cost control, measurement, and contract administration activities that drive project success.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, valuations, and payment applications. Conduct quantity take-offs, measurements, and cost assessments for construction works.
Monitor project costs, budgets, variations, and overall financial performance. Assist in preparing and reviewing contracts, subcontracts, and commercial documentation.
Evaluate contractor and subcontractor claims, variations, and payment requests. Compile cost reports and provide accurate commercial information to management.
Support tender preparation, pricing strategies, and bid evaluations. Assist with contract administration and commercial negotiations.
Maintain comprehensive records of project costs, measurements, variations, and contractual documents. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, finance, and project teams to ensure effective cost management.
Qualifications and Experience Required Relevant educational background in Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Quantity Surveying, or related disciplines. Possession of a Junior or Intermediate Engineer Certificate is preferred.
2 to 3 years of professional experience in quantity surveying, construction, engineering, or cost management. Candidates with study experience in China or prior work with Chinese enterprises will be given strong preference.
Proven numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Good understanding of construction costs, measurement techniques, BOQs, contracts, and commercial procedures.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
Ability to perform effectively in a professional, multicultural environment.
