About the Role:

Ore Control Geologist Jobs in Kalumbila Reporting to the Senior Reconciliation Geologist Operations, the Ore Control Geologist will oversee all ROM pad activities and ensure the development and adherence to ore feed plans on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual basis.

You will collaborate closely with mine planners, operations teams, and metallurgical engineers to optimize mine plan delivery while maintaining world-class operating standards and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities Supervise ROM pad activities and manage compliance with ore feed plans across multiple timeframes.

Ensure crusher throughput targets are consistently met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Monitor stockpile balances, ore types, blending strategies, and material quality.

Communicate feed grade trends, mining issues, and ore quality changes to operations and metallurgy teams. Collaborate with production geologists and geometallurgy specialists to achieve feed plans and ensure quality ore delivery to the processing plant.

Participate in ROM stockpile modelling and validation to improve accuracy in feed grade predictions. Manage dilution, ore loss, and material classification effectively.

Provide clear instructions to dispatch regarding material types and destinations. Track ore movements from pits, stockpiles, and ROM pads to maintain optimal blend delivery to the mill.

Work with mine planning and production teams to set and monitor feed blend targets. Ensure ore blocks are designed to minimize loss and dilution, and accurately recorded and reported.

Update and flag Vulcan block models monthly, evaluating mineable blocks against reserve models. Track and report broken and in-situ ore stocks.

Provide input to production schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Candidate Requirements Completed Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.

B.Sc. degree in Geology, Mining Geology, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mining geology, including at least 2 years in ore or grade control roles.

Proficiency in mining software such as Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac, Leapfrog, or MineSight; advanced Excel skills are a plus. Familiarity with data management systems like acQuire, SQL, or GIS platforms.

Competence with GPS, surveying software, and Microsoft Office suite. Membership in the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
