Key Responsibilities
Design Coordination
- Review all MEP drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for constructability.
- Coordinate MEP systems with architectural, structural, and interior design requirements.
- Identify and resolve design clashes before construction.
- Participate in design review and coordination meetings.
- Ensure MEP installations comply with approved drawings and project specifications.
- Coordinate consultant responses to RFIs related to MEP works.
Construction Coordination
- Develop and maintain an integrated MEP installation schedule.
- Coordinate the activities of all MEP subcontractors.
- Ensure timely mobilization of labor, materials, and equipment.
- Monitor installation progress against approved programmes.
- Coordinate access to work fronts and resolve interface issues among trades.
- Verify that builders' work requirements are identified and communicated in advance.
Quality Management
- Ensure all installations comply with project specifications and approved shop drawings.
- Conduct routine inspections of MEP works.
- Monitor compliance with approved method statements and inspection test plans.
- Track and close quality observations and non-conformance reports.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities where required.
Commercial & Procurement Support
- Review material submittals and technical submissions.
- Monitor long-lead MEP items and procurement schedules.
- Assist in evaluating technical compliance of proposed materials and equipment.
- Provide progress information to support valuation and payment certification processes.
Testing & Commissioning
- Prepare and coordinate testing and commissioning activities.
- Develop commissioning schedules in collaboration with subcontractors and consultants.
- Witness testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
- Track punch-list items and ensure timely closure.
- Coordinate training of facilities management personnel.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure MEP works are executed in accordance with project HSE requirements.
- Participate in site safety inspections.
- Ensure subcontractors maintain safe work practices.
- Identify and mitigate MEP-related construction risks.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of MEP progress, inspections, and approvals.
- Prepare weekly and monthly MEP progress reports.
- Maintain updated MEP trackers, issue logs, and commissioning registers.
- Monitor and report key risks affecting MEP delivery.
- Support preparation of project handover documentation and as-built records.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
- Professional membership of a recognized engineering institution is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in building services coordination.
- Experience on high-rise residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or commercial developments.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple MEP subcontractors.
- Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and project handover processes.
Technical Skills
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, and ELV systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with BIM/Revit coordination processes is preferred.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and reporting skills.
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- MEP works delivered in accordance with approved programme.
- Number of unresolved MEP coordination clashes.
- Quality inspection pass rate.
- Timely closure of defects and punch-list items.
- Commissioning activities completed on schedule.
- Compliance with project safety requirements.
- Accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
