Job Summary

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving mechanical systems and machinery to ensure efficient production operations. The role involves routine inspections, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment, machines, and production lines.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Install, align, and test new machinery and mechanical components.
  • Ensure all machines operate safely and efficiently during production.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to enhance machine performance.
  • Collaborate with production, electrical, and quality teams to resolve breakdowns quickly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and company policies.
  • Recommend spare parts, repairs, or upgrades as needed.

Requirements

  • OND / HND / BSc or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing environment FMCG, food & beverage, etc..
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance processes.
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
