Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate commercial vehicle deliveries, routes and driver movements to maximise operational efficiency.
• Manage driver availability, dispatching, arrival times and daily operational performance.
• Monitor drivers through vehicle tracking systems and ensure tracking devices are operational before dispatch.
• Analyse fuel consumption, toll fees, overhead travel costs and other operational data to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Identify logistical and operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
• Manage operational processes, administration and accurate data capturing.
• Support cross-border planning and ensure adherence to relevant operational procedures.
• Maintain strong working relationships across the business and provide management with operational feedback.
• Conduct daily driver toolbox talks and support compliance with operational standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field is advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Logistics Controller within the logistics or transport industry.
• Strong route planning, driver coordination and transport operations experience.
• Experience analysing fuel consumption, toll costs and transport-related expenditure.
• Good geographical knowledge of South Africa.
• Cross-border logistics exposure is advantageous.
• Willingness to work outside normal office hours when operationally required.
