• The Kitchen Assistant supports the efficient operation of the kitchen by assisting chefs with basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, organizing kitchen supplies, and ensuring that food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils meet the highest standards of sanitation. The role contributes to the timely preparation and delivery of quality meals while complying with food safety regulations and the Company's Standard Operating Procedures SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

• Assist chefs with washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing ingredients.
• Measure and portion ingredients according to recipes and kitchen instructions.

Kitchen Operations

• Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment promptly.
• Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain proper waste segregation.

Inventory & Storage

• Receive and properly store food supplies and kitchen materials.
• Label and store food items according to food safety standards.
• Apply the First-In, First-Out FIFO method when handling food products.

Food Safety & Hygiene

• Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain personal hygiene and wear the required protective clothing at all times.

General Responsibilities

• Support chefs during busy service periods.
• Assist with setting up and closing down the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or its equivalent.
• A certificate in Catering, Food Production, or Hospitality is an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
• Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering establishment is an added advantage
