Role Description

  • The IT Audit Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos State, Nigeria. This role is responsible for planning and executing IT audits across systems, networks, and applications to assess control effectiveness, security, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • The IT Audit Officer will review IT processes, evaluate system configurations, and test controls related to access management, change management, data integrity, and business continuity.
  • Daily tasks include documenting audit procedures and findings, preparing clear audit reports, recommending corrective actions, and following up on remediation plans with relevant stakeholders.
  • The role also involves collaborating with IT, risk, and business teams to identify emerging technology risks, supporting the development of IT audit programs, and contributing to continuous improvement of the bank’s IT governance framework.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Information Technology, including understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, databases, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Hands-on experience with System Administration and Network Administration to assess configurations, performance, and security controls.
  • Proficiency in Technical Support and Troubleshooting to analyze issues, validate control gaps, and interpret system behaviors during audits.
  • Knowledge of IT audit methodologies, risk assessment, internal controls, and regulatory requirements relevant to financial institutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant certifications e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, ITIL are an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to present technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams, manage multiple audits or tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in banking, financial services, or a regulated industry is preferred.
