Key Performance Areas KPA

Inventory Control & Stock Accuracy

  • Manage inventory records to ensure alignment between physical stock and system stock.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies and stock variances.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly stock audits and prepare comprehensive audit reports.
  • Oversee stock movement, reconciliation, and documentation across all depots.
  • Coordinate depot replenishment activities to maintain product availability and operational continuity.

Expiry, Damaged Stock & Recall Management

  • Monitor and report near-expiry stock on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Coordinate the return of short-dated, expired, damaged, or non-conforming stock to Lagos.
  • Ensure timely processing and closure of Goods Issue Notes GINs for recalled inventory.
  • Distribute expiry stock reports to business stakeholders and support action planning.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage inventory-related quality issues and escalate product integrity concerns when required.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice GDP, internal quality standards, ESG, and HSE requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement inventory control enhancements.
  • Support safe stock handling practices and appropriate management of damaged or expired products.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare accurate and timely inventory, variance, audit, expiry, and quality reports.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, Quality teams, Depot Operations, and SBU Heads to resolve inventory issues.
  • Utilize inventory data and analysis to drive informed decision-making and operational improvements.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree B.Sc. or equivalent qualification in:
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Logistics
  • Business Administration
  • Sciences
  • Or a related discipline

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 8–10 years' experience in inventory management, warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or depot operations.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical distribution is highly advantageous.
  • Proven track record in stock control, inventory reconciliation, and audit management.
  • Strong inventory reconciliation, stock auditing, and variance management capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with inventory reporting and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of quality and compliance requirements within distribution environments.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive process improvements.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
