The National Assembly of Zambia invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Internal Auditor (x2).

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform duties and exercise powers as specified under the Public Finance Management Act and related regulations.
• Ensure salaries, allowances and other emoluments are paid strictly in accordance with financial regulations and statutes.
• Carry out pre-audit of payments before they are made, ensuring they are duly approved and comply with financial and public procurement requirements.
• Carry out post-audit assignments on financial and non-financial transactions, internal control processes and procedures.
• Carry out special audit engagements as requested by the Controlling Officer or identified through the audit process.
• Review monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
• Perform any duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Full ACCA, CIMA, CA or ZICA.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and/or Finance is an added advantage.
• Internal Audit Certification will be an added advantage.
• Member of both the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience.
