Job Purpose
The Insurance Advisor is responsible for providing professional advice and tailored insurance solutions to clients based on their individual needs and financial objectives. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and deliver exceptional customer service while achieving agreed sales and business targets.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs analyses to understand clients' insurance requirements.
  • Provide advice on appropriate life, risk, disability, income protection, medical aid, and short-term insurance products.
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, prospecting, and lead generation activities.
  • Review clients' existing insurance portfolios and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and policy documentation.
  • Ensure all advice and sales activities comply with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate client records and update CRM systems.
  • Provide ongoing policy reviews and after-sales service to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Achieve individual sales, retention, and service targets.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, legislation, and product updates.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
  • Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
  • A qualification in Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field is advantageous.
Experience
  • Proven experience in consultative sales and relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business and achieve sales targets.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
  • Consultative selling and negotiation skills.
  • Client needs analysis and solution-based selling.
  • Financial services and insurance product knowledge.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
