Income Generation and Resource Mobilization Officer

The Income Generation and Resource Mobilization Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, and coordinating income-generating and resource mobilization initiatives to support the sustainability of Muvombo Development Initiative (MDI). The role focuses on identifying funding opportunities, cultivating partnerships, preparing funding proposals, and implementing income-generating strategies that strengthen the organization's financial capacity and support the successful delivery of its programs and strategic objectives..

 Major Responsibilities: Key Outputs/Responsibilities(A      

 1. Resource Mobilization

• Identify and pursue funding opportunities from local and international donors, corporate organizations, and government institutions.
• Develop and implement resource mobilization strategies aligned with MDI's strategic objectives.
• Establish and maintain a database of potential donors, funding opportunities, and strategic partners.       

2. Proposal Development

• Prepare high-quality concept notes, grant proposals, and funding applications.
• Coordinate the collection of program information and budgets required for proposal development.
• Ensure all funding proposals meet donor/stakeholder requirements and submission deadlines.      

3.Prepare M&E Reports –

·Generate regular progress reports, baseline, midline and end line survey reports, and evaluation findings, and submit them to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

4.Income-Generating Initiatives

• Identify and develop sustainable income-generating projects to diversify MDI's revenue streams.
• Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of income-generating activities.
• Assess the performance and financial viability of income-generating initiatives and recommend improvements.

5.Maintain M&E Tools and Systems –

·Develop, update, and manage data collection tools and digital/physical M&E systems to ensure data integrity, consistency, and timely availability.

6. Partnership and Donor Relations

• Build and maintain productive relationships with donors, partners, and key stakeholders.
• Represent MDI in fundraising meetings, networking events, and partnership engagements.
• Provide timely updates and maintain regular communication with donors and partners      

7.Participate in Strategic Planning and Reviews

· Contribute to project design, strategic reviews, and work plan development by providing evidence-based insights and lessons learned.

·Designing project and proposal writing- conceptualise and design projects in line with the organisation strategic focus and write proposal to source for projects funds. 

8.Ensure Compliance and Quality Assurance –

· Ensure that all M&E activities are in compliance with MDI guidelines, ethical standards, and organizational quality assurance policies.

Application of Results Based Management-

· Ensure the application of Results Based Management for all programs and projects and ensure the development of a monitoring framework with measurable indicators.

Other Duties

· Perform any other task as assigned by the Finance Manager.
