This full-time role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging between 10,000 and 15,000 ZMW. About the Hydroelectric Project Manager Role As a Hydroelectric Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s water and electricity equipment during projects and emergency maintenance.

You will work closely with Chinese engineers to plan, budget, and manage new and renovation projects involving hydropower and photovoltaic systems, ensuring compliance with local authorities such as ZESCO, WARMA, and Local Water Utilities.

Key Responsibilities for Hydroelectric Project Manager Jobs in Ndola Manage and supervise ongoing hydropower construction projects independently, ensuring timely completion and high-quality standards. Coordinate daily tasks for assistant engineers, monitor project progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Assist in developing annual electricity consumption and consumables approval plans. Support compliance with Zambian water and electricity construction regulations.

Lead skill development and training initiatives for local hydropower construction teams. Assist with the management and follow-up of the proposed 320kwp photovoltaic project.

Candidate Requirements Proven practical skills in water and electricity maintenance and installation, including switch circuit repairs and troubleshooting unexpected malfunctions. Strong safety awareness with the ability to anticipate and mitigate equipment hazards.

Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and high responsibility in managing construction teams and challenging projects. Familiarity with maintenance, repair, and safe operation principles for generators, photovoltaics, transformers, water pumps, and related equipment.

Knowledge of photovoltaic substation construction standards and hydropower project management. Ability to create construction plans, understand local material markets, and develop cost-effective project strategies.

Capacity to design and implement skills training and management plans tailored to local teams. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience, including at least 6 years managing water and electricity construction, installation, and maintenance projects. Proven track record managing and completing at least five hydropower construction projects and leading teams of 30 or more personnel.

Proficiency in MS Office, CAD water software, and the ability to interpret electrical construction drawings and schematics. Established network with material suppliers and relevant power and water authorities.

Paid membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia is required. Willingness to reside within company premises or construction sites during projects.
