Job Summary
- Coordinate all HSSEQ-related matters, onshore and offshore.
- Responsible for building a strong safety culture both onshore and offshore.
Core Responsibilities
Onshore / Office HSSEQ:
- Manage internal and external audits in cooperation with the procurement/purchasing department.
- Maintain and update all valid governing documentation for the Nigerian office.
- Drive continuous improvements within the Company Management System.
- Serve as an active member of the Emergency Response & Security Team and arrange regular emergency response exercises.
- Coordinate the Company Management Review process.
- Deliver Safety & Security induction training for new employees, alongside general HSSEQ and Risk Management training.
- Generate monthly HSSEQ reports and conduct monthly office inspections.
- Interface with external auditors, Class, and other regulatory bodies on Nigerian office HSSEQ matters.
- Follow up on incidents and Non-Conformances NCs, ensuring full compliance with HSSEQ-related rules and regulations.
- Provide general security oversight, supporting the Company Security Officer CSO and Designated Person Ashore DPA locally.
Offshore / On-Board HSSEQ:
- Follow up on and analyze incident reporting on board, actively motivating crew members to improve reporting cultures.
- Maintain all valid governing documentation specifically for the Floating Production Storage and Offloading FPSO units.
- Facilitate structured Risk Management sessions, risk training, and safety leadership training on board the units.
- General Operations & HSSEQ Training:
- Conduct internal operational audits.
- Interface with external auditors, Class, and other bodies regarding Nigerian operational HSSEQ matters.
- Provide localized security oversight and support to the CSO and DPA for maritime and field operations.
Requirements
Working Experience:
- Proven service and experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry within the field of Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality HSSEQ Management.
- A sound understanding of risk assessment methodologies and robust safety management systems.
- Deep familiarity with international standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISM, and ISPS.
- Strong proficiency in supervising HSSEQ functions of a highly operational nature.
- Demonstrated experience in managing safety/health campaigns and delivering in-house training programs for both crew and office staff.
- Direct experience auditing offshore operations, with specific emphasis on FPSOs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, HSSEQ, or another relevant technical discipline.
- Core Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and people management skills.
- Language: Fluent in English with strong communication capabilities.
