Position : Housekeeper

Department : Housekeeping

Reporting : Head of Housekeeping

Location: Lower Zambezi


Job Purpose

To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest comfort throughout the assigned guest accommodation and lodge areas, in accordance with established housekeeping standards and procedures. The Housekeeper is responsible for preparing guest rooms and suites, replenishing amenities, handling guest laundry and belongings with care, and promptly reporting maintenance issues, damages, or guest-related concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Clean and maintain guest villas in accordance with established lodge standards, procedures, and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest readiness across all assigned areas.
  • Dust and clean furniture, shelves, fixtures, and other guest-facing surfaces to ensure a consistently high standard of presentation.
  • Prepare and make guest beds and replenish guest amenities and supplies as required.
  • Handle guest property and personal belongings with the utmost care, confidentiality, and respect.
  • Manage guest laundry services, ensuring items are processed and returned within established lodge service timelines.
  • Promptly report maintenance defects, damages, breakages, missing items, and other irregularities to the Head Housekeeper and Maintenance team.
  • Escalate all guest-related concerns, incidents, or special requirements to the Head Housekeeper on time.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and professional grooming, including clean uniforms and appropriate personal presentation at all times.

Requirements and skills

  • Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job
  • Ability to focus intently on ensuring consistent, high-quality personalized service

Qualifications:

  • Full Grade 12 certificate.
  • Certificate in General Hospitality Management
  • 2+ years of relevant experience is required.
