The Head, Finance & Accounts will oversee all accounting operations of JC International, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. This is a leadership position responsible for guiding the accounts team to maintain financial integrity, optimize resource allocation, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making and drive business growth.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare and present financial analysis, forecasts, and performance reports to management for informed decision-making.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with departmental heads.
- Track budget implementation, review variances, and recommend corrective measures.
- Implement cost optimization initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns and payment of statutory obligations FIRS, LIRS, Pension, NHF, etc..
- Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring prompt resolution of findings.
- Maintain compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
- Manage cash flow, banking operations, and relationships with financial institutions
- Monitor working capital to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and projects
- Evaluate investment opportunities and advise management on funding strategies
- Oversee the effective use of accounting software and ERP systems for accurate reporting and analytics.
Requirements
- BSC/HND in Accounting, Finance,
- Professional certification ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
