Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic commercial frameworks, business plans, and growth strategies for refrigeration and HVAC operations.
- Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and profit & loss management to ensure strong financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Lead contract negotiation, tender/RFQ/RFP responses, and stakeholder relationship management with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Manage day-to-day operations, project delivery, resource allocation, and quality standards for installations, maintenance, and service teams.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of technical and administrative staff while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and customer excellence.
- Ensure full legal, regulatory, and compliance adherence (including SHEQ and corporate governance).
- Conduct market analysis, identify new business opportunities, and implement pricing and service strategies to grow market share.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, inventory management, and overall business performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce in Law (BCom Law) from a recognised university, or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Commerce/Business Management.
- Minimum 6 years of senior management or commercial management experience, with at least 3 years in a General Manager, Country Manager, or equivalent strategic leadership role.
- Proven expertise in financial planning & cost control, budget forecasting & analysis, and developing project commercials frameworks (including RFQs, tenders, and P&L analyses).
- Strong, demonstrable track record in contract negotiation & management, strategic business development, and securing favourable contracts in competitive or multinational environments.
- Solid experience in logistical & operational oversight, team leadership & training, and managing field-based or site operations in technical or industrial service sectors (experience in mining services, engineering, construction, logistics, or related technical fields is highly relevant and directly transferable to HVAC/refrigeration project execution and crew management).
- Sound knowledge of legal compliance, risk management, and corporate governance.
- Experience working across Southern African markets (South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Mozambique) will be a distinct advantage.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in business growth, scaling operations, or turnaround environments is highly valued.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's licence and full willingness to be based in the Gaborone metropolitan area (with occasional travel as required).
- Previous exposure to HVAC, refrigeration, or construction-related services is beneficial but not essential - commercial acumen, strategic leadership, and operational delivery capability are the priority.
