Job Details

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' proven experience in the building construction industry.
  • Extensive experience as a General Foreman, Site Manager, or Senior Foreman on building projects.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town.
  • Relevant construction qualification or trade certificate will be advantageous.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Thorough understanding of South African building regulations, construction methods, and health and safety legislation.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office; experience with construction management software is advantageous).
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all day-to-day site activities from project commencement through to completion.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise site labour, subcontractors, suppliers, and plant.
  • Ensure construction work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain project schedules.
  • Coordinate daily site activities and communicate effectively with project management teams.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
  • Enforce compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Identify and proactively resolve construction, quality, and operational issues.
  • Monitor productivity, labour allocation, material usage, and equipment utilisation.
  • Manage site logistics, deliveries, storage, and housekeeping.
  • Ensure accurate daily site records, progress reports, labour returns, and site documentation are maintained.
  • Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate inspections with consultants, engineers, and local authorities where required.
  • Assist in project planning, sequencing, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure defects are addressed promptly and manage snag lists through to practical completion.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement on site.
