Job Details

Report To: CEO   

  • Lead the design, development, optimization, and validation of transdermal and topical formulations for the SMSS platform.
  • Develop formulations utilizing advanced active ingredients such as Tranexamic Acid, Niacinamide, Ascorbyl Glucoside, and Alpha-Arbutin.
  • Ensure formulations are compatible with microneedle-assisted delivery systems and meet predefined penetration parameters.
  • Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing in line with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Evaluate formulation risks and propose scientifically sound optimization strategies.
  • Prepare technical reports, formulation documentation, validation summaries, and standard operating procedures SOPs.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Lead and R&D team during product development and validation phases.
  • Contribute to pre-clinical validation studies and support scientific decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect intellectual property associated with the project.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of a B.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in advanced formulation science.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following:
    • Transdermal drug delivery systems
    • Advanced cosmeceutical formulations
    • Polymer or biomaterial applications in delivery systems
  • Experience with stability testing and advanced actives is essential.
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Drug Delivery, Pharmaceutical Technology, or related fields is an added advantage.

Required Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of transdermal drug delivery design, development, and evaluation.
  • Experience with advanced cosmeceutical actives including Tranexamic Acid, Niacinamide, Retinoids, Arbutin, and Ascorbyl derivatives.
  • Understanding of polymer science and biomaterials used in advanced delivery systems.
  • Familiarity with ICH-aligned stability testing protocols and pH-sensitive active ingredient management.
  • Knowledge of skin penetration enhancement, transdermal flux, and bioavailability optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify formulation risks and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong technical writing skills for reports, SOPs, and validation documentation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for cosmeceuticals is desirable.
