Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet organizational goals.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Adjust budgets as needed based on changing financial conditions
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
  • Present financial reports to stakeholders, including executives, board members, or investors.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities to maximize returns.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity for operational needs.
  • Oversee capital structure, including loans, equity financing, and debt repayment.
  • Posting of sales invoice, vendor invoice and inventory into the accounting software
  • Ensure commercial department is notified of sales inflows into the company account
  • Manages issuance of payment receipt to company inflow
  • Generating a customer and Vendor ledger
  • Receiving & issuing of inventory into the accounting software.
  • Preparation of necessary schedules to the final account and attend to external auditors query
  • Ensure fixed asset register is maintained.
  • Preparation of Project report
  • Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed.
  • Reconciles invoices and customer deposit /payments
  • Prepares vouchers, invoices, cheques, vendor/customer account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy.
  • Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Oversees and manage the preparation of payroll.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organisation mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Oversee and responsible for liaison activities with regulatory bodies for tax purpose, filing and reconciliation.
  • Oversee and responsible for financial controls by maintaining accounting operations in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assists in stock-taking and maintenance.

Skill, Knowledge, Education and Experience

  • BSc / HND in Accounting is preferred
  • Chartered in accounting is preferred i.e ICAN, ACCA, ANAN
  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Minimum of 2 years in supervisory / managerial role
  • Certification in computer applications will be an added advantage
