Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Building Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple commercial and retail properties
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance programmes
  • Ensure buildings remain safe, compliant, and fully operational
  • Conduct regular building inspections and identify maintenance requirements
  • Monitor the condition of building infrastructure and associated assets

Technical Building Services

  • Oversee electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and general building systems
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are completed in line with operational requirements
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) where applicable
  • Ensure all statutory servicing and certification requirements are maintained

Contractor & Project Management

  • Manage contractors, suppliers, and specialist service providers
  • Coordinate repair, refurbishment, and maintenance projects
  • Monitor contractor performance against service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Review quotations and authorise work in accordance with company procedures
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation and building regulations
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and statutory certifications
  • Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure quality assurance procedures are consistently maintained

Financial Management

  • Manage maintenance budgets and control operational expenditure
  • Monitor repair and maintenance costs across the portfolio
  • Review invoices, quotations, and contractor claims
  • Support financial planning and cost-saving initiatives

Tenant & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with tenants, Property Managers, contractors, and suppliers
  • Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests and operational queries
  • Deliver exceptional customer service across the property portfolio
  • Provide regular operational and maintenance reporting to management

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Facilities Management, Building Management, or Property Operations
  • Proven experience managing multiple commercial and retail properties
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and general building infrastructure
  • Experience managing contractors, service providers, and maintenance programmes
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets and operational expenditure
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) is advantageous
  • Experience with MDA, RedRabbit, MS Office, or similar property management systems will be advantageous
  • Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Building Science, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is advantageous
