Job Summary/Purpose
CoffeeNet Trading PLC is seeking a highly experienced Export Manager to lead, manage, and optimize the company’s entire export life cycle, global commercial strategy, brand, and international sales growth. This role integrates high-level sales strategy with digital-forward marketing to Ethiopian coffee as a premium global brand. The Export Manager oversees the entire revenue-generation engine, from origin-story, branding and social media engagement to direct-trade negotiations and international market expansion. The Manager oversees a team of export professionals, streamlining documentation workflows, managing logistics partnerships, by bridging the gap between processing excellence and global consumer trends.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Global Sales & Market Expansion: Identify and penetrate high-margin geographic regions, Lead negotiations for multi-year supply contracts with international distributors and specialty green coffee buyers, Develop and execute entry strategies for emerging coffee-consuming regions.
- Strategic Export Leadership: Develop and implement export strategies that align with company goals, ensuring cost-effective and timely shipment of coffee.
- Documentation Oversight: Supervise the preparation, review, and verification of all essential export documents, including Certificates of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificates, Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Fumigation Certificates.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure total compliance with the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority (ECTA), Ethiopian Customs Commission, and international trade regulations to prevent delays or penalties.
- Logistics & Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison between Coffee-Net PLC, freight forwarders, shipping lines, insurance providers, and international buyers to optimize transit times and freight costs.
- Customer Engagement & Lead Generation: Monitor and analyze market performance to cultivate leads and drive high-value sales. Establish protocols for responding to international inquiries and messages promptly to maintain a professional and positive image.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, lead, and develop the Export department staff, ensuring clear performance objectives, high productivity, and rigorous attention to detail in all clerical tasks.
- Financial & Contract Management: Oversee the integrity of Letters of Credit (LCs) and other payment instruments; ensure timely submission of documents to banks to avoid discrepancies and ensure cash flow.
- Process Improvement: Continuously audit and refine internal export processes to reduce manual errors, automate where possible, and improve overall lead times.
- Crisis Management: Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in the export pipeline, such as port congestion, customs holdups, or logistical disruptions.
