This is a senior, hands-on role for a candidate who leads by example. Someone who sets and upholds impeccable housekeeping standards across the entire lodge, manages and mentors a housekeeping team, and takes full ownership of the department's operational and administrative functions in a remote bush environment.
Core Criteria:
- Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Senior Housekeeper within a luxury lodge or five-star hospitality environment
- Strong leadership, staff management and training ability
- High standards of attention to detail, cleanliness and presentation
- Sound knowledge of housekeeping systems, stock control and departmental administration
- Experience conducting stock takes and managing linen, amenities and cleaning inventories
- Ability to work a roster-based cycle in a remote lodge setting
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills and a calm, composed approach under pressure
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee all housekeeping operations across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house
- Maintain and enforce exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest room preparation
- Manage, mentor and motivate the housekeeping team
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure consistent quality standards are upheld
- Manage stock control, including linen, amenities and cleaning supplies
- Conduct regular and month-end stock takes
- Handle departmental administration, reporting and requisitions
- Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Ensure all health, safety and hygiene protocols are adhered to
- Report and follow up on maintenance issues within guest areas
On Offer:
- Salary: R30,000 – R35,000 per month
- Live-in position with accommodation provided on-site
