JOB ADVERT – ENUMERATORS (CHIBOMBO & CHIRUNDU)
Living Water International (LWI) is a global Non-Governmental Organization that exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and experience “living water” (the gospel of Jesus Christ) which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water provides safe drinking water, Christian Witness, Sanitation and Hygiene Education to communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America & Caribbean.
Living Water International, Zambia, is seeking to recruit 20 Enumerators (10 Chirundu, 10 Chibombo) to help with data collection in Chirundu and Chibombo Areas for a period of two weeks.
The exercise is scheduled to take place from 31st August 2026 to 11th September 2026.
Position Purpose
To collect data to be used during the Ripple Effect Study activities in the two Districts.
Roles and responsibilities
· Collection of Data.
· Verification of Data and Reporting
· Water Quality Testing
· Any other duties as maybe assigned.
Education/Experience/Technical Skills
· Full Grade Twelve certificate.
· Owns a smartphone in good working condition.
· Comfortable using mobile data collection applications (e.g., KoboToolbox) or willing to be trained.
· Basic literacy and numeracy sufficient to navigate digital survey tools without heavy assistance.
· Prior experience conducting household surveys, community-based research, or enumeration work preferred.
· Experience with water quality testing procedures is an added advantage, though training will be provided.
· Familiarity with the WASH sector or community development work is a plus.
· Fluent in Tonga, Bemba, Nyanja, Lenje and English
· Comfortable and confident communicating with community members, including in rural or informal settings.
· Able to explain survey questions clearly and read consent language accurately.
Other Competencies/Requirements
· Punctual and reliable, able to commit to the full data collection schedule (31st August-11 September 2026).
· Available for the full duration of the data collection period, including possible multi day travel to program communities.
· Responsible and trustworthy, able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Respectful and culturally sensitive when engaging with community members and local leaders.
· Honest and committed to data integrity, with no falsification of responses.
· Willing and able to travel to rural or remote survey sites.
· Physically able to walk to household locations, some of which may require travel over uneven terrain.
· No direct personal or financial ties to Living Water Zambia programming in the survey communities, to reduce bias risk.
· Willingness to complete a brief training and pilot test prior to data collection.
· Local knowledge of, or residence in, the survey areas is preferred to support access and trust building.
· Should be residents with own accommodation within the respective district.
· Should have a working bank account.
