Position:
Electrical Technician (2 Vacancies) – KKIA The Electrical Technician will play a critical role in the design, planning, supervision, and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems within the airport environment.
This includes substations, terminal buildings, and airfield electrical infrastructure to ensure continuous and safe power supply. Key Responsibilities Implement and oversee maintenance schedules to optimize electrical power supply performance for terminals, airfields, and substations.
Inspect all electrical apparatus to ensure optimal functionality and serviceability. Supervise and actively participate in diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, and testing electrical systems and auxiliary equipment, including transformers, standby generators, high and medium voltage panels, 11KV ring network, escalators, elevators, baggage carousels, check-in counters, pumps, apron floodlights, parking and street lighting, air conditioning, and airfield ground lighting systems.
Perform routine maintenance tasks as scheduled. Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports on maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment serviceability.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff through theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations to enhance troubleshooting and repair skills. Ensure full compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications and Experience Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of five O’ Level credits including English, Mathematics, and Science.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Computer literate with proficiency in relevant software.
At least 2 years of industrial experience in a related electrical engineering role. Membership in the Engineering Institution of Zambia is required.
Desired Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Result-oriented, reliable, and incorruptible work ethic.
Excellent supervisory and leadership capabilities. Proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively across ZACL stations. Ability to work extended hours and meet tight deadlines.
