Job Description:

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Designing and developing electrical systems for industrial and engineering projects.
  • Preparing electrical engineering drawings, calculations, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Developing electrical load schedules and carrying out equipment sizing and selection. 4. Preparing technical specifications for generators, transformers, switchgear, distribution boards, control panels, electrical cabinets, cables, and other electrical equipment.
  • Reviewing electrical designs and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, codes, client specifications, and project requirements.
  • Providing technical support during procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
  • Conducting technical evaluations of electrical equipment and vendor submissions.
  • Participating in site surveys, inspections, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Supporting the preparation of technical proposals, project execution plans, method statements, and other engineering documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree B.Eng./B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering, electrical system design and project execution.
  • Proficiency in relevant electrical engineering and design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, EPLAN, or equivalent engineering tools.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and relevant practical experience in applicable electrical engineering standards, codes, regulations, and industry best practices including IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, and other relevant standards.
  • Proven experience in the design, sizing, specification, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Demonstrable experience in the technical specification and selection of electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchgear, switchboards, distribution boards, control panels, electrical cabinets, motors, UPS systems, battery systems, cables, earthing systems, and lightning protection systems.
  • Ability to perform or review electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations, short-circuit calculations, equipment sizing, and protection coordination studies.
  • Experience in reviewing technical datasheets, vendor documentation, equipment specifications, drawings, and engineering deliverables
