DRILL & BLAST ENGINEER - Urgently needed

Leading Gold mining firm based in Zimbabwe seeks a QUALIFIED and highly experienced Drill & Blast Engineer. Supervision of all related staff and sub-contractors with all related H.R Functions. Utilise geological and geotechnical data, mine plans and survey info to develop blast designs and electronic shot timing. Assess and optimise blasting parameters. Collect and interpret technical data i.e. blast induced vibration Manage blasting optimization workshops Manage blasting sign off procedures Develop budgets and operational cost reviews Manage all SHEQ functions - ensuring adherence to all laws and regulations (large part of the role) Oversee all explosives handling operations Supervision of sub-contractors and suppliers (taking corrective action where necessary, managing contractor risks. Manage equipment utilisation Review and approve contractor or survey dept generated drill and blast plans, hole design, blast patterns, timing sequences etc. Manage all related equipment and stocks of explosives etc. ensuring adequate levels of stock, safe storage maintenance, calibration and safekeeping Maintains explosives inventory Development of operational and capital budgets All other related functions.
