Drill and Blast Engineer

Description:
Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Drill and Blast Engineer to join their mining company based in Gauteng. You will be responsible for developing and optimising drill and blast designs to support safe, efficient and cost-effective mining operations while ensuring compliance with operational and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimise drill and blast designs, layouts and charging plans to support production requirements.
• Implement and monitor drill and blast control systems to ensure safe and efficient drilling and blasting practices.
• Monitor blast performance, fragmentation, dilution and overall drilling and blasting efficiency.
• Conduct stope reconciliations and analyse drill and blast performance against design.
• Manage and maintain drill and blast data and reporting systems.
• Participate in short-, medium- and long-term mine planning activities.
• Collaborate with mining, geology and geotechnical teams to optimise drill and blast performance.
• Monitor drilling, charging and blasting activities and recommend improvements based on operational performance and ground conditions.
• Support cost planning, reconciliation and continuous improvement initiatives relating to drilling and blasting operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory and operational standards.

• Grade 12
• Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering
• 5 years' experience in underground mechanised mining, with experience in longhole stoping
• Blasting Certificate for Scheduled/Underground Mines
• Valid Driver's License

• Salary: Negotiable
