Key Responsibilities

Technical Drawings & Design

• Prepare detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD
• Produce site layouts, subdivision plans and development drawings
• Update and amend existing development plans
• Convert historical drawings into accurate digital formats
• Maintain drawing registers and revision control

Township Development

• Prepare township establishment drawings
• Assist with township layout planning
• Produce subdivision and consolidation plans
• Support land use applications
• Prepare development documentation for municipal submissions

Land Redevelopment

• Prepare drawings for the redevelopment of former mining land
• Assist with site redevelopment planning
• Update historical development plans
• Support land rehabilitation and redevelopment projects
• Ensure drawings reflect current development requirements

Property Development Support

• Work closely with Property Development Managers
• Assist with feasibility layouts
• Produce concept development plans
• Support project planning and implementation
• Prepare presentation drawings for stakeholders

Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

• Prepare plans for municipal approvals
• Assist with statutory submissions
• Maintain development records
• Ensure compliance with planning regulations
• Support applications relating to land use rights, service rights and permits

GIS & Spatial Information

• Work with RGIS/GIS mapping systems
• Update spatial development information
• Maintain digital mapping records
• Integrate survey information into development plans
• Produce mapping reports where required

Documentation Management

• Maintain accurate project documentation
• Archive historical drawings
• Manage drawing revisions and updates
• Ensure document control standards are maintained
• Organise development records and approvals

Minimum Requirements

• Degree, National Diploma or Higher Certificate in Draughting, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Built Environment or a related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Draughtsman within Property Development, Civil Engineering or Town Planning
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency
• Experience working with GIS/RGIS systems
• Experience preparing township development drawings
• Strong understanding of land development processes
• Experience interpreting historical plans and technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational and document management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Valid South African driver's licence
