Church Pastor Jobs in Lusaka The appointed Pastor will oversee preaching, teaching, discipleship, pastoral counseling, worship leadership, church administration, leadership development, evangelism, missions, and community outreach.
The role requires a servant leader who exemplifies humility, integrity, wisdom, and biblical faithfulness while shepherding the congregation. Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver biblically sound, clear, and Christ-centred sermons.
Lead Bible studies, prayer meetings, discipleship classes, and leadership training sessions. Provide pastoral care, biblical counseling, prayer support, visitation, and spiritual guidance to members.
Conduct worship services, sacraments, dedications, weddings, funerals, and other church functions according to doctrine. Collaborate with elders, deacons, ministry leaders, committees, staff, volunteers, and the congregation fostering teamwork and accountability.

Age between 35 and 55 years at appointment to ensure mature leadership experience. Educational and Theological Qualifications Degree from a recognized institution; preference for Theology, Biblical Studies, Divinity, Christian Ministry, or related fields.
Sound knowledge of the Bible, Evangelical Church doctrine, church history, discipleship, preaching, pastoral care, and leadership. Additional training in counseling, management, leadership, youth ministry, missions, or community development is advantageous.
Ministry Experience and Doctrinal Alignment Proven pastoral or ministry experience in a Bible-believing evangelical church. Experience preaching, teaching, discipleship, counseling, visitation, church administration, and leading ministry teams.
Ability to minister to diverse age groups including children, youth, adults, couples, families, and the elderly. Commitment to the statement of faith, vision, mission, constitution, policies, and doctrinal position of the Evangelical Church in Zambia.
Belief in the authority, inspiration, and sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures. Dedication to Christ-centred preaching, sound doctrine, evangelism, and spiritual growth of the congregation.
Leadership, Pastoral Care, and Communication Ability to lead worship services and provide spiritual direction for sacraments, dedications, weddings, funerals, and other church functions. Effective communication skills in English and, where possible, local languages understood by the congregation.
