We are seeking to hire a skilled and experienced Carpenter Foreman Construction Projects to supervise all carpentry and formwork activities on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in formwork, structural carpentry, and finishing works, particularly in road, bridge, and culvert construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all carpentry and formwork operations on site
- Lead a team of carpenters in the construction of formwork for bridges, culverts, and road structures
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications
- Ensure accurate measurement, cutting, and assembly of materials
- Oversee installation of wooden and metal formwork for concrete structures
- Inspect and ensure quality workmanship in all carpentry tasks
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good condition
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on site
- Plan daily work activities and ensure timely completion of tasks
- Identify and resolve technical or workmanship issues
Requirements:
- Minimum of Trade Test Certificate, OND, or HND in Carpentry, Building Technology, or related field
- Relevant certifications or vocational training is an added advantage
- Minimum of 3-5 years proven experience as a Carpenter Foreman in construction projects
- Strong experience in formwork carpentry for concrete works bridges, culverts, roads
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and construction methods
- Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Must be willing to travel or relocate to project sites within Northern Nigeria
- Physically fit and capable of handling site work
- Good communication and organisational skills
