Role Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and growing sustainable commercial opportunities across the school’s enterprise portfolio. The role oversees business growth initiatives, retail operations, financial performance, partnerships, and team leadership to ensure profitability, efficiency, and alignment with the school’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Development
- Develop and implement annual business plans for the school’s enterprise unit.
- Identify new income-generating opportunities within the school community.
- Introduce new products and services based on parents’ and students’ needs.
Retail & Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily retail operations uniforms, books, supplies, etc..
- Ensure effective inventory management and prevent stock losses or shortages.
- Supervise retail systems, stock records, and sales reporting.
- Coordinate suppliers and logistics to ensure efficient service delivery.
Financial Management
- Approve pricing recommendations in line with approval processes.
- Work with Accounts to prepare budgets, forecasts, and expenditure plans.
Market, Partnerships & Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, vendors, and service providers.
- Promote enterprise services and identify cross-selling opportunities.
People Management & Governance
- Supervise Business Officer, Retail/Enterprise Officer, and Logistics Officer.
- Set performance targets and provide coaching to improve productivity and service quality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field minimum Second Class Lower.
- Chartered Accountant qualification with a strong marketing or commercial bias.
- Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory or management experience.
- Strong understanding of financial management, retail operations, and business development.
