Role Summary
- The Boiler Technician will be responsible for ensuring the continuous generation and availability of steam and compressed air for factory operations within the OSD Plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that steam boilers and heating systems operate efficiently and reliably.
- Carry out hourly monitoring, repairs, and adjustments as required to prevent costly breakdowns and minimize their impact on production efficiency, workplace safety, and energy conservation.
- Identify wear, leaks, or safety hazards and take corrective action.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
- Maintain accurate service records, operational logs, and compliance documentation.
- Adhere to safety procedures related to maintenance, engineering, and operational activities.
- Participate in maintenance safety training and provide guidance to engineering team members.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Carry out other assigned job-related duties from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
- OND in Mechanical Engineering
- Certificate in Boiler Operation and Maintenance
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Boiler Technician or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
- Relevant technical certification or trade qualification e.g., NABTEB or City & Guilds.
Key Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of boiler systems, combustion processes, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematic drawings, and related documentation.
- A safety-first mindset with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
